Arriving in Kristiansand, Norway

Hey we wanted to send you a message and let you know we made it safely. Eirik from my work met us at the airport and got us our little car. He showed us how to get to work and then he helped us find where we are staying. On our trip there were only round abouts, no stop lights. He is super friendly. we live close to Birkeland and it is a little town. We do live out in the middle of no where. Once you leave Birkeland the roads are much iceer. The drive way to the home is completely ice but we have studded tires. The Svensons, who we are renting from, are super sweet and nice. They had a little food in the fridge and freezer, the house warmed up, etc. They even bought fuzzy house slippers for each of us because the floor might be cold. The house is beautiful. It is european style where they fit a lot in. They said we are more than welcome to have guests come stay. The house sleeps 12 besides our bed. Cool! They have parties up here some times too. It is so nicely decorated and super cute.

The weather is cold here. They said it is particularily cold and that this whole week is supposed to be cold. It was 12 degrees fareinhight here at 8:00 pm. Well we are tired and we finally figured out how to turn off the stove. The interesting things to figure out: the symbols on the stove, the symbols on the washer, dishwasher, etc. The house is very up to date, especially with technology. They have a blender, waffle maker, and pretty much anything we could want. The stove is digital and a touch screen. I told Jake this might be the nicest house we live in for many many years.

We are loving our adventure. It is truly an adventure. A personal pan pizza at the airport was $30!!!! So yes food is expensive here.  The bread in incredible. We love it.  Even the white loafs of bread here, that they look down on because they have some greate wheat and grain breads, but they are all delicious.  We are having so much fun. We love you all. My phone doesn't get reception at the house. I will have to check tomorrow at work. We love you all so so much.
